About Ride and Repair
Ride and repair was set up in 2011 to cater for the increasing number of cyclists who need a reliable and high quality service to look after their bikes. Many people don't have the time to visit bike shops, and can't afford to have their machine out of action for long periods.
Ride and Repair is not a conventional bike shop, so you won't be pressured into buying new parts or even a new bike. You will be given fair, balanced and practical advice on whether or not parts need replacing.
Drop your bike off or have it collected, repaired and returned within an agreed timescale with all work carried out by a professional bike mechanic to the highest possible standards.
Repairs and maintenance can also be completed at your home or workplace with the Ride and Repair mobile service.
Along with repairs and maintenance, Ride and Repair offers an advice and training service, including guided rides and skills coaching. This also includes help with planning for day rides, commuting, foreign trips and tours covering things like bike set-up, equipment lists and nutrition advice.
Ride and Repair is owned and run by Paul Anders Johnson.
"I am a very experienced, knowledgable and enthusiastic cyclist and I want to share all this to help you get the most out of your bike and your cycling.
Since I first began road and mountain biking over 25 years ago, I've gained a vast amount of experience to draw on.
Over the years I've ridden extensively in the UK and in Europe completing countless day rides, Audax rides, Sportives and several extended road and off-road tours. I've raced mountain bikes at junior and senior levels, competed in trailquests, time trials, 24 hour endurance races and Polaris events. I've worked as a mechanic in bike shops, organised rides and tours and I've even run mountain marathons.
I am a qualified Mountain Bike Guide to the rigorous Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Awards standards. Other qualifications include HSE Wilderness First Aid Certification.
I'm also a member of Macclesfield Wheelers, British Cycling, the Cyclists Touring Club and the International Mountain Bike Association. I support the work of Sustrans and I'm a Moderator and Area Events Coordinator for Retrobike.co.uk."
